2024 UTME: JAMB Specifies Requirement Inside Examination Hall as Mock Holds Today
In a recent announcement, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided crucial information for candidates participating in the 2024 Mock-UTME scheduled for March 7. Candidates are now permitted to bring ordinary HP pencils for numerical analysis into the examination hall.
The clarification comes in response to numerous queries from candidates and the public regarding the permissibility of HP pencils as writing materials during the examination. Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, released a statement in Abuja on Wednesday to address these concerns.
“It should be noted that the Board had hitherto prohibited the use of pencils and other banned materials in view of the nefarious ends that these materials are put,” Dr Benjamin stated. “The Board has, however, okayed the use of ordinary HP pencil during the upcoming Mock-UTME and the main examination scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19.”
Candidates are urged to pay attention to the specific instructions provided by JAMB. They are required to bring only one ordinary HP pencil to their respective examination centers and ensure that they do not possess any other prohibited items.
This change in policy aims to facilitate numerical analysis during the examination process. JAMB acknowledges the importance of this tool for candidates and assures them that the use of ordinary HP pencils is now permitted for the upcoming examinations.
As the 2024 UTME approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed and adhere strictly to the specified guidelines. This adjustment in the examination requirements reflects JAMB’s commitment to providing a fair and conducive environment for all candidates during the examination period.
