JAMB Commences Sales of 2024 Direct Entry Forms

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially kicked off the nationwide sales of Direct Entry forms for the 2024 academic session.

Starting on Wednesday, 28th February 2024, and concluding on Thursday, 28th March 2024, interested candidates can begin their registration process for the Direct Entry mode, as announced by JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

The Direct Entry mode is open not only to Nigerian candidates but also to foreign candidates aspiring to pursue tertiary education in Nigeria. Dr Benjamin emphasized the commitment of the Board to ensuring a fair and level playing field for all candidates, regardless of their status.

However, Dr Benjamin pointed out a crucial requirement for candidates not awaiting results. They must upload their A’ level qualifications, O’ level results, and Direct Entry registration template during the registration process. The Board will not process the admission of Direct Entry candidates until the claimed results are uploaded and verified by the awarding institutions on the Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) mail platform.

In cases where candidates are awaiting A’ level results from IJMB/JUPEB/NABTEB, Dr Benjamin stated, “DE candidates must have uploaded their Admission Letter and Registration Template at the point of registration.” It is important to note that this verification process may take up to 28 days, as specified by the awarding body. The results of this verification will be forwarded to the Board and reflected on the e-Facility profile of the Direct Entry candidate.

Dr Benjamin also clarified that, “Statement of results (in lieu of certificate) is accepted for registration only within three years of the date of award.”

Moreover, the Board emphasized its stance on candidates presenting A’ level certificates from awarding institutions that have refused to verify the certificates for the 2023 admission. Dr Benjamin mentioned, “The Board would not process candidates’ application from all awarding institutions that have refused to honour several requests for the verification of their A’level certificates presented by some candidates for the 2023 admission.”

As the registration window for Direct Entry forms is now open, aspiring candidates are urged to adhere strictly to the outlined requirements and deadlines to ensure a smooth and successful registration process. The Direct Entry mode serves as an alternative route for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions and provides opportunities for those with qualifications beyond the traditional O’ level certificates.
