Registration Timeline

The registration process has been structured in a step-by-step manner to ensure clarity and ease for prospective candidates. The key dates for the Direct Entry registration are as follows:

  • Start of DE Application and E-PIN Vending: Wednesday, February 28, 2024
  • Closing Date: Thursday, March 28, 2024

Important Points to Note Before Applying

Before diving into the registration process, candidates must be aware of the following key points:

  1. Distinction Between DE and UTME: The JAMB Direct Entry form is distinct from the JAMB UTME form and is intended for candidates seeking admission into the first year of a university program.
  2. Registration at JAMB Offices Only: Registration for both UTME and DE can only be done at JAMB offices.
  3. Exclusive Registration: Candidates cannot apply for both JAMB DE and UTME in the same year.
  4. Online Application: The DE form is an online application available on the JAMB portal.
  5. Qualifications/Certificates: JAMB only recognizes and accepts twelve qualifications/certificates.
  6. Validity of Statement of Result: Statement of result is accepted for registration only within three years of the date of award.
  7. Upgrade from UTME to DE: Upgrade is available for candidates whose DE results are pending at the point of UTME registration or for those awaiting A-level results.
  8. Registration Fee: The DE registration fee for the 2024/2025 session is N3,500. Additional charges include N700 for CBT Centre registration service, N1,500 for CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME, and N500 for bank charges/commission. The total cost is N6,200 for candidates not taking the MOCK examination and N7,700 for those taking the MOCK examination.
  9. National Identification Number (NIN): A National Identification Number is mandatory for registration.
