The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially certified 747 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) exercise, slated to commence on Monday, January 15. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor (PAC) of JAMB, released this information in a bulletin issued in Abuja.

15 Simple Steps to Apply for JAMB

While initially shortlisting 907 CBT centers for accreditation, JAMB undertook revalidation and integrity tests, ultimately certifying 747 centers for the 2024 UTME exercise. To help candidates navigate the application process seamlessly, here are 15 simple steps to apply for JAMB 2024:

1. Create JAMB Profile Code/Profile Registration:

Begin the JAMB UTME/DE registration process by obtaining or creating a profile code. Send your name in the format (Surname First-Name Middle-Name [if any]) via text (SMS) to 55019. Ensure your name does not exceed 40 characters.

2. Purchase JAMB PIN:

After securing your profile code, purchase a JAMB PIN to facilitate the registration process. The PIN’s cost is approximately N6,000 or N7,000 for Nigerian candidates, while international candidates are required to pay $30 for PIN procurement. (Please purchase the ePIN at the JAMB CBT centres to avoid mistakes)

3. Visit JAMB CBT Centre:

Head to the nearest JAMB CBT Centre with your JAMB PIN, Profile Code, and other necessary requirements to continue the registration process.

4. Input Your JAMB PIN:

Present your purchased JAMB PIN to the JAMB Registration staff at any Approved/Accredited JAMB Registration Centre in proximity to you.

5. Fill in the JAMB Form:

Complete the JAMB Form with accurate details. Provide essential information such as your bio-data (Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government Area, Gender), email address, and other relevant data.

6. Choose Courses and Institutions:

Select the disciplines and institutions you wish to study. Indicate your preferences for first, second, third, and fourth choices among the provided options.

7. Enter Results/Certificates Grades:

Upload necessary certificates (O’ Level and/or A’ Level) grades and their dates if available. Candidates awaiting results should indicate A/R (Awaiting Result) but should also upload them on JAMB’s portal as soon as available.

8. Enter UTME Subjects:

Enter the core JAMB subject combinations for your chosen course. List the four subjects required by JAMB for the intended course of study.

9. Choose Exam Centre/Town:

Select an exam centre town near your location, as it will likely be the area of your exam venue.

10. Face Capture and Biometric Enrollment:

Undergo face capture and biometric enrollment, including a snapshot of your face and fingerprint prints for identity verification.

11. Review and Confirm Entries:

Thoroughly review and confirm that all entered details are accurate and complete.

12. Click on the ‘Submit’ button:

After confirming the accuracy of your details, submit your registration to the JAMB portal by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button.

13. Print and Collect the JAMB Registration Slip:

Following successful registration, print the registration slip, which will be provided to you at the JAMB CBT Centres.

14. Collect the Reading Text and CD:

Receive the reading text (novel) and a CD recommended by JAMB at no extra cost, along with your registration slip.

15. Make Payment:

After completing the registration process, including receiving your slip and reading materials, pay a service charge of seven hundred naira (N700) in cash to the JAMB CBT Staff. This concludes the registration process for JAMB 2024.
