ANIMAL HUSBANDRY OBJ:
Spermatogenesis can be defined as the process of production of sperms in the seminiferous tubules located inside the testicles of male mammals.
Two functions of progesterone are;
(i)It inhibits oestrus
(ii)It ensures the development of uterus and the implantation of the fertilized ovum (Zygote)
Two functions of prolactin are;
(i)It stimulates mammary gland production
(ii)It induces milk secretion from nipples
(i)The diaphragm contracts
(ii)Sternum moves forward
(iii)Volume of thoracic cavity increases
(iv)Intercoastal muscles contract, ribs are thus raised.
(i)The diaphragm relaxes
(ii)Sternum moves backward
(iii)Volume of thoracic cavity decreases
(iv)Intercoastal muscles contract, ribs are thus lowered.

Heterosis in Animal improvement is the increase in such characteristics as size, growth rate, fertility, and yield of a hybrid organism over those of its parents. In other words heterosis by mating two different pure-bred lines that have certain desirable traits.
(i)local breeds are disease resistance while Exotic breed are not disease resistance.
(ii)Local breeds is better than getting larger eggs exotic breeds is better than getting smaller eggs
(iii)Local breads are also larger, more exigent on feed quantity while Exotic breeds are smaller, and are not exigent on feed quantity.
(i)It can lead to loss of species variety.
(ii)It does not have control over genetic mutations.
(iii)It brings about discomfort to animals.
Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a devastating disease of livestock caused by a Picornavirus. There are seven serotypes of the virus. All species of cloven-hoofed animals are susceptible. The disease is extremely contagious giving new meaning to FMD (Fast Moving Disease).

Using contaminated materials such as hay, feed, water, milk or biologics; contaminated clothing, footwear, or equipment; virus-infected meat or other contaminated animal products to feed animals or when raw or improperly cooked. Also, infected aerosols which is spread of virus from an infected property via air currents.
