BREAKING NEWS: WAEC to hold free mock CBT exam for private candidates tomorrow

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will conduct a free computer-based mock examination for the 2024 first-series West African Senior Secondary School Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.

The mock exam, which is the first of its kind in the history of WAEC, is aimed at preparing the candidates for the main computer-based examination that will start on January 31, 2024.

According to the Ag. Head, Public Affairs, WAEC national office, Lagos, Moyosola Adesina, the mock exam will take place on January 23 and 24, 2024, and will be open to all registered candidates.

She said that candidates are expected to log on to the mock examination portal, mockcbt.waec.org.ng, from their mobile phones or personal computers to take the exam. The portal will be accessible all day, for the two days. She added that candidates will be allowed to access the mock examination page a second time if the first attempt fails.

She also said that information containing login details of registered candidates will be sent to their respective email addresses and phone numbers as soon as registration closes.

She further said that a link to the tutorial video on how to use the examination portal will be made available on all WAEC’s social media platforms.

She urged the candidates to take advantage of the mock exam to familiarize themselves with the computer-based mode of assessment and to boost their confidence.

She wished all the candidates success and a wonderful experience in the mock exam and the main exam.
